Overview

Rathgar is a warm and welcoming home for the elderly, situated 3 miles from the centre of Northampton.Â
Our philosophy of care is to provide our residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.
From Dementia, Palliative and Respite Care, Rathgar Care Home Ltd provides a professional and compassionate service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our experienced staff offer the very best care for residents, ensuring that each individual has freedom of choice and independence, with access to all the support they need.
The Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is an independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. Its primary role is to ensure that all providers of these services, including hospitals, care homes, and more, deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care.
The CQC achieves this through registration, inspection, and monitoring of services, as well as publishing its findings and taking action when needed.
The location ID for Rathgar Care Home is 1-3616776307

The VIVALDI Social Care Study is a research project led by the Outstanding Society, Care England and University College London.
We are working together to undertake a 12-month pilot study to mitigate the impact of infections and outbreaks in care homes.
Our Care Home
The building that now houses Rathgar Care Home was originally built as a large family house, owned by a Northampton shoemaker. It has since been sympathetically modified and extended over the past 30 years to become an ideal environment for a care home.
Registered with the CQC
Rathgar now includes specially designed accommodation for the over 65s.
We are registered with the CQC for those that are frail or have physical disabilities and sensory impairments.Â
Specialist Services
We specialise in care for patients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and end-of-life care. Rathgar is now a 23-bed home, which consists of 11 single rooms and 6 doubles. We sit amongst a street of residential houses in Northampton, where we have built a strong relationship with the local community.
Peace & Quiet
Our peaceful courtyard offers flowers and seating for all to enjoy.
The perfect spot in the summer months for residents to relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine, and enjoy the peace and quiet in the warmth of the sun.

Diversity Equity & Inclusion
Rathgar Care Home Ltd is committed to encouraging diversity and eliminating discrimination in both its role as an employer and as a provider of services. We aim to create a culture that respects and values each others’ differences, that promotes dignity, equality and diversity, and that encourages individuals to develop and maximise their true potential.Â
Our Principles
Rathgar Care Homes’ commitment to Equality and Diversity is:
- To create an environment in which individual differences are recognised and valued.
- To promote equality in the workplace.
- To regularly review all employment practices and procedures to ensure that no job applicants or staff are treated less favourably than others.
- To treat breaches of our Equality and Diversity Policy (“the Policy”) seriously and to take disciplinary action when required.
- To develop Equality Objective(s) to ensure that the Policy is fully implemented.
- To ensure that the Policy is fully supported by the Directors.
- To monitor and review the Policy annually.

WHY CHOOSE US?
Our residents and their families choose Rathgar because our commitment to them is clear from the start. We try to make Rathgar a stimulating and entertaining environment where residents are encouraged to take part in as much as they wish to. Keri and the team offer a variety of fun and interesting activities, from quizzes, bowls, cinema, music afternoons and poetry reading to group exercise and 1:1 opportunities to visit coffee shops, the local pub and town.
Recently, we have been focusing on our #nevertoolate campaign. We asked residents, ‘if you had one last wish, what would it be?’ or ‘is there something you wish you had done, but didn’t?’ We want to provide opportunities for our residents to tick things off their bucket lists. So far, we have spent the day at Crufts, attended a rugby match, visited the seaside and had a go on a race car simulator. That’s what sets us apart, and ensures our residents have the best quality of life.
